About Lindsay
Here's my story. The long version. Because, well, it's my website.
I was a drama queen as a child who grew into a theater nerd as a teenager. My obsession has always been finding creative ways to create a meaningful connections with audiences.
I went to Western Michigan University (go Broncos!) planning to major in art and music... until I discovered marketing. I graduated with my degree in communication, specifically public relations and journalism (with honors, of course, because I am an Enneagram 3, DISC high D, Strengths Finder Achiever, after all) and made my way out into the wonderful world of B2B marketing.
Within 2 years of graduation, I was named Associate Vice President of my company, Southwest Michigan First. And at the tender age of 24, I was honored as one of Michigan's 40 Business Leaders Under 40.
I married my high school sweetheart.
He's pretty great so I decided to keep him. And he knows I'm a city girl at heart, so wasn't long before we moved to Chicago where I gained my first taste of global enterprise B2B marketing leadership. It's also where my first son, Jack, was born. (He's the handsome green-haired fellow in the family pic. Seriously the coolest person I know).
While on maternity leave, I began taking classes for my master's degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from West Virginia University. (Looking back, it's definitely not a strategy I recommend.) I fought hard for that degree as I worked full-time, launched my own consulting business, and had two more kids - twins! Max and Harry (the two other coolest people I know). I proudly graduated from WVU in 2016 with my whole crazy crew there to cheer me on and witness that we, in fact, can do hard things.
In the first 15 years of my career, I gained experience building brands for B2B businesses in ecommerce, life science, talent consulting, app development, economic development, and martech. I also spent time consulting and working with agencies where I was fortunate to serve some of the biggest brands in the world, including Intel, LinkedIn, CDW, and L'Oreal.
If you don't go, you don't grow.
In 2019, I made the leap from marketing leader to startup founder. My mission was to overcome the foundational challenge faced by creative, storytelling, brand-obsessed B2B content marketers: "How do I prove the value of this important work we're doing!?"
I founded Casted: the first podcast and video marketing platform for B2B brands. And we set out to empower B2B marketers to maximize and measure the impact of their creativity and connection not by simply selling tech, but by educating about the power of Amplified Marketing and how to implement it.
I knew making the leap from marketing leader to CEO would require a lot of growth, but I didn't anticipate just how much of my new life would be spent living squarely outside my comfort zone. Because growing is what I did! ...or, more accurately, growing is what we did.
Casted took off fast and with exceptional momentum almost from day one. we had exponential year over year growth (one year, we grew 5x!) and quickly began serving brands like IBM, Salesforce, HubSpot, Drift, ZoomInfo, and Gong as they embraced Amplified Marketing. We were recognized in back-to-back years as a nominee for Indiana's Startup of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Innovation of the Year. In 2021, I was honored as a recipient of Indiana's 40 Under 40 award.
In April 2024, after raising three rounds of venture capital and millions of dollars of revenue, as we celebrated 5 years of growth at Casted, I left the company to move to Boston. Shortly thereafter, I started to share my learnings as an advisor, brand builder, and thought leader for other founders and thought leaders at my company Human Brands Win.
Fueled by passion and purpose.
Today, I've recorded more than 300 podcast episodes, spoken at dozens of events, and serve as a frequent contributor to publications like Forbes and Entrepreneur. I'm an Endeavor Entrepreneur and a member of Female Founder Collective and 10th House where I am so grateful to know, support, learn from, and serve other entrepreneurs.
I think that dramatic little girl I once was would be proud of the woman I get to be today - frequenting the stage, constantly behind a microphone, spending my time, talents, and energy teaching marketers and business leaders how to use amplified marketing to humanize their brands.
That's my story ...so far. And I can't wait to hear yours.
